And culturally very, very different. They would comply with government and police orders. 99%+ of crimes are solved in Japan - compared to US where a fraction are.

Well I would think our borders(air and ground) will be closed a lot sooner now that we have been hit. And I would also hope that we have enough of PPE and ventilators too.

Deaths and those diagnosed in NYS is getting less by less day by day. This week will be the peak, as well as next week, and deaths and diagnosed numbers will start to trickle back down.

I hope given the difficulty in getting compliance with SD that they don't rush into easing it off too soon, i.e.once we hit the peak.

I love it.

Cuomo: Trump's cocktail doesn't work! "The mixture is anecdotal at best!" Orange man bad at all costs! This is ridiculous!

Also Cuomo: Uhh, I'll take three quarters of a million doses of the Trump cocktail for NY please.

If one can wade through the usual and silly WAPO Trump gotchas, WAPO hits the outdated test development protocols pretty hard - especially the SOP of CDC to develop their own (non-WHO) test and the protocols following the Public Health Emergency Declaration of 31 January.

Here is one just one excerpt:

“The declaration triggered emergency testing protocols, which increased restrictions on which labs could make a corona virus test. Any lab would be required to acquire an Emergency Use Authorization (EAU) from the FDA to perform testing for COVID-19.” The cascading ill effects of this protocol have to be read to be believed:

Given the world’s failure to firmly slam the door on China-related travel early (no doubt related to Chinese misinformation on the virus as well as other factors) and the fact that asymptomatic and mildly symptomatic carriers/spreaders aren’t necessarily candidates for testing even with a greater supply of tests, there is some question as to how much of the COVID-19 deaths we could have realistically avoided.

FWIW, I received a "blast e-mail" from Elise Stefanik overnight, and it stated that she, and other "upstate" legislators, were able to block Cuomo's gestapo action of randomly seizing ventilators from upstate NY, to be shipped to NYC.....
