Majority of Kentucky is what I would call "Conservative Democrats". They carry some of the Republicans beliefs on life, family, church, etc., but do tend to vote for Democrats. My home county of Muhlenberg County is a historically Deomcrat county, but holds true to conservative ways of life.

They just showed one...owner of a coal mine who is a local that lives in Inez. Overall, I think they are trying to show both sides of the region, the good and the bad.

Wait, you forgot CA (the entire west coast for that matter), MA, CT, NOVA... Those areas are dirt poor too.

So explain why CA currently has a Republican governor and explain how 4 out of the last 5 Massachusetts have been Republicans.

Methinks CA and MA do not have very loyal Democrats nor an overwhelming majority statewide....

It is not uncommon for citizens in typically liberal/conservative states to vote for the other party in more local elections. Southern states often vote for Democratic governors but have become solidly Republican at the national level. CA and MA will vote for a fiscal conservative as governor, but not a social conservative. Romney was very moderate when he was the gov. of MA (I lived there while he was governor). However, now he acts like he is Pat Robertson...typical politician.

BTW...5 out of the last 6 KY governors have been Dem. I guess Kentuckians aren't very good conservatives either...

What the hell was that with the subtitles? Where they speaking a foreign language ... sorry I found that offensive. I never see them subtitle some one from the inner city speaking ebonics or whatever.
