Does anyone know anything about the presence of organized crime in Frankfort ? I got a PM from someone regarding it , but said individual didn't go into detail .
I knew some "vote buyers" / campaign "affiliates" back in the day. But not related to drugs or other common, non-political rackets. At least, I only knew them as guys who knew how to grease the political wheels here and there.
Some of the most famous politicians in the state (and family members) have engaged in shady or outright criminal behavior. Got away with it completely or mostly. I knew one who employed bodyguards even before becoming Governor. To intimidate and to protect from folks he'd wronged in past.
Your completely wrong. There is organized crime all over ky. If you don't run in the circles how can you possibly know to answer he question. Kkk grim reapers outlaws Aryan brotherhood are all a big part of ky history. Most are good people and fight for their families and brothers. Others are bad and cause chaos and destruction. But it's just another part of balance. Anyway long story short. The answer to your question is yes. Also there is a Mexican cartel in central ky.

Are certain chapters of the MC's mentioned above really engaged in organized crime ? Or is it more a case of Kentucky law enforcement agencies blowing things up to ( for example ) receive more funding ?
Which Mexican cartel has a presence in central KY by the way ?
Lexington suffers drug-related crime by virtue of its location at the intersections of Interstates 64 and 75 - particularly the latter, which is very convenient for Detroit-based distributors. The Interstates are closest to the north side of town, which has a higher crime rate than other areas. Might be correlation rather than causation, of course - but my money's partly on the latter, though drugs and addicts can be found all over town.
Even in my own very pleasant neighborhood, unfortunately. My first grade teacher's pretty little house, a block or two from me, was raided several years ago -major marijuana operation going on there (long after my long-ago first grade teacher's time, of course. She would have been horrified). It's changed hands several times since, with no repetition.
Then there's one of my good friends, who purchased a nice house in a good neighborhood - only to discover a secret "grow room" tucked away in the basement. Grow lights were gone, but there were lots and lots and lots of outlets...and the hidden location made it clear what its intended purpose had been. No one would require that many grow lights if they were just growing a little weed for themselves.
Neither my neighborhood nor that of my friend are located on the north side. However, most Lexingtonians remain unaffected by drug deals or dealers unless they go looking for them - or are unlucky on the road and encounter a hopped-up driver.
Hello - If anyone would like to discuss La Cosa Nostra (LCN), feel free to reach out. Additionally, there is organized crime (OC) in Kentucky.

But, to answer your question...I don't know of any mafia activity in my part of the state. But, on the other hand, I'm not part of such activity so, I could be wrong. It's not the kind of thing that's advertised in the local newspaper. Which further supports your need to see for yourself. So, come on down, I suggest you start in Eastern Kentucky, say, Harlan, Letcher, Pike, Leslie, Perry, Knott, and Floyd Counties would be a great place to start and then go from there. These are all good people that are always willing to help in any way they can.
I can't wait to hear about your findings so, and keep us updated.
Good luck!
