Then I think rural Ky may be a place you can call home and be happy. I hope you find it.
Not to rural though. I want to be near civilization, like within 10-20 minutes. I want to be in a place thats quiet and peaceful but when I need it, or my kids need it, stores, doctors, banks, pharmacies, etc are not to far

easy to do! Plenty of places like that near Louisville and Lexington. If you like hill country check out Bullit and Nelson Counties, south of Louisville.
@ thank you for your kind words!

have met people who have left Kentucky years ago in search of jobs and most of them still call themselves Kentuckians.
I am a "Louisville Expatriat" and always say good things about the place ("a Louisville Evangelist"), but appreciate the entire Commonwealth, too (esp Lexington & the Bluegrass region, having went to college there).

La Grange, Ky is the PERFECT spot for you. Email or PM me with more questions. It is also by far the best school district in the state, and only 20 minutes to malls and "big city" amenities, but is very quaint and quiet.

You have my attention because you mentioned this town twice to me. Can you tell me specifically why La Grange would be more suitable for me than Lexington and Bardstown? Im curious...
Many years ago I read about a unique Kentucky statute that I wish was enforced to this day---everywhere. Helps make Kentucky the state that it is.
"No wife may move furniture in the house without the husband's permission."
By gum, send'em to jail if they do!!
Rofl, if that were a law I would be a Lifer in Prison ~ always moving the furniture around and rearranging things! I would be on the FBI's Most Wanted!
