But it’s too hard. there’s no way to beat this virus, herd immunity is the only way!!! Meanwhile, Thailand a country of 70M people reported no new cases today.

"It seems that we, the U.S., has given up and accepted this disease as a facet of life," Jeffrey Shaman of the Columbia University School of Public Health told NPR. "It didn't have to be this way, and it still doesn't going forward."

Yep.

Rightly so. The cases are getting lower in the cities hit first. It simply spreading to those who weren't part of the first wave like an Arizona and Texas. It's out there. Nothing we can do about it.

Thailand will get it as soon as they open back up to international travel. I highly doubt there has been free movement in Thailand which is what makes the US so great.

Yep. You are so right.

Just because you continue to repeat this, doesn’t make it true. The whole point is that there IS something that we can do about it to minimize the number of deaths and severe illness caused by this virus until a vaccine is widely available.

Face masks. Social Distance. Shelter the elderly. That's it. We all figured that out around day 3 of the "pandemic". Nothing else can be done and the rest will play itself out. Time to open everything everything up immediately to save the economy.

Would 650K dead from Covid-19 be acceptable to you? Just seeing how far you want to move the goalposts.

The genie is out of the bottle. The simple fact is the virus will continue to spread until enough people have been exposed to it and become immune either by infection or widespread vaccination and we cannot keep the economy shut down for another year until a vaccine is widely available.

No one is advocating for shutting down the economy for an entire year.

Well that is pretty much the only way we stop it to all self quarantine until everyone is vaccinated. The virus is not going to just disappear. As soon as people start congregating again the virus will spread again.
