Looking for any information on house rentals in the region, newspapers or classified with up to date listings, not specificly driggs area, could be an hour away from driggs. What are the roads really like during the winter? Not interested in buying only renting until I can get familiar with the area.Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

There are days when you can't get from Driggs over to Jackson WY which is your nearest town for work, shopping, the newspaper, etc. Driggs has one of the best mountain views of anywhere (Grand Targhee). I drove a route up to Jackson and lived in the area a little - and all I can remember is there is a radio show (2 stations in Jackson, can't recall the ID) with a morning show called "Trash & Treasure", a local recycling-the-goods show and folks were always looking for rentals (ski towns) and occasionally, someone would have one - they can be accessed online but I'm not sure if it's link.. In Jackson, there are some subsidized housing units north of the hospital in Jackson for the lower-income pop. - if interested, go to USDA Rural Development (RD) for Wyoming, navigate to rentals.

Where are you coming from and where is this area that is one hour from Driggs? That encompasses a pretty big area...

Did you do a search online for real estate?

http://www.realtor.com (broken link)
Plus a zillion agencies if you do the search under 'Driggs, Idaho Real Estate'

Did you check out the chamber of commerce? The public library? You could call them and ask them what they think...

How about the city itself?

http://driggs.govoffice.com/

or the local newspaper?

Hope it helps!

Thank you for the post. It helps a lot. Some of the links you gave me I already had and others I did not. Thank you again for the reply.

Thank you for responding. I know that the weather is a real factor in getting around in the winter. I am used to snow but still don't really enjoy driving in it.I appreciate your help on the housing as well. This would be a company move for me so the company would foot the bill of the move but I still have to live somewhere....Thanks for your time!

Default rentals in Driggs

We have been looking for a vacation home in Driggs area. One thing we have learned is that rentals are in very short supply in the area.

1. Beautiful place.

2. It's very expensive to live there.

3. If you are not prepared for an actual northern climate and all that entails, you're going to be heading back home after the first hard winter. If you survive.
