Hear tell there's a cow moose down here on the river at Laurel, tho I haven't seen it. Then again there's a big swampy area that I ain't goin' into, and who knows what's living in there that I don't want to invite up to my yard.

No problem I have lots of different views from around Clark fork area.

This photo is looking at Hayden lake from the now removed spades mountain fire lookout. Taken around 09. I spent several years up there taking photos. Only to have a guy move here from Cali who read my blog and then went to the media telling them that he was the spades fire lookout photographer. And then tries in vain to get funds to rebuild it. Sadly he was unwilling to work with me and ignored me. And has since dropped his campaign to rebuild spades mountain. I spent years talking with the forest service trying to figure out ways to save it myself. It was too far gone to save it. People kept shooting at the legs and someone took a chain saw and cut some of the supports it was over then. It’s too bad really because it could have been rehabilitated. It’s too close to town says the forest service.

This is the lone pine tree that blew down in the last wind storm in coeur d alene. I have spent the majority of my life around that tree. Just like the rest of town my comfort things are slowly being taken away by nature and development.

The wind storm not long ago blew down a bunch of trees along the road from my neighborhood toward Athol and the scenery looking down the valley opened up. I was pleasantly surprised so I took a couple of photos on my way to CdA this morning.

Took a little Staycation and stayed a few nights at a nice hotel (Knob Hill Inn) in Ketchum and lived it up for a few days. I went with my wife on a drive north to see if I could get some good photography up in Stanley, but sadly it was full of haze. But managed to get these two coming down off Galena Summit and the other just north of Ketchum on the Big Wood River Bridge. https://pbase.com/traveler/image/173090438 https://pbase.com/traveler/image/173090437
