The site on HWY 72, west of Hughes Road, is currently going through site preparations.

Do you know why Ala Hwy 20 (Madison Blvd) hasn't developed like 72 West has? There's been some development, but not at the rapid pace that 72 has. There's not a lot of undeveloped space between Madison and Athens now.

Good question. I suspect the traffic to & from Athens and the Limestone County going to Huntsville will largely use HWY 72. Traffic from Limestone and Morgan Counties along with those living in Cullman, Hartselle, Decatur, and etc will ride on I-565 and never really need to hit HWY 20. I'm hoping that Towne Madison will draw more business to the HWY 20 corridor. Until that time comes it will be one fast food joint after another and a few run down buildings.

At the moment, folks coming from the west can easily get into Town Madison, but can't get out. Huntsville shoppers can leave, but can't get in. They've got to get those flyovers for a complete interchange done, and done quickly (which won't happen).

Rick in Madison said in a previous post that site preps have begun on Hwy 72, west of Hughes Rd. He didn't say how far west though.

Yep; sorry folks.

As somebody reported previously at one time. They razed the building that housed a State Farm office and a hair/beauty store.

Jack's traffic always seems to be light. I wonder if Whataburger will do any better. Wonder if it could help draw people in to Jack's if Whataburger is busy. Love Jack's shakes.

Jack's shakes are great. Thanks for reminding me. (I'm losing some weight - so no shakes until July for me )
