I saw the new, redesigned Pilot on the honda.com website today. Wow! Nice..... I can't decide which feature I like more, but if I had babies I would love the integrated sunshades.

Yes, I agree. The Honda Pilot is a super nice car.....but.....
I very nearly bought a 2007 model...loved everything about it after a test drive. Room to spare...and 4WD! Wonderful! But....I changed my mind a few days later...when I read the many negative owner reviews about mediocre gas mileage (less than 20mpg). With the price of gas going right up through the roof these days (currently $4.24 here), one really needs to take a second look at that as a critical factor.
I haven't owned a Pilot...it's just what I read in some reviews. I don't know if the '09 models made any improvement on mpg...

It is a huge vehicle. I don't see how anyone would expect to get better than 20 mpg. That is about par for that size of vehicle. I wonder if they increased the engine size like they did on the accords and civics?

IIRC the Pilot stil has a 5 speed tranny, while it's competitors seem to have moved on to 6 speeds or (maybe?) CVTs. I think Honda has gotten complacent with this unit.

We just looked at the pilot and the CRV and decided neither will suffice. The pilot doesn't get any better mileage than the new tahoe and the CRV while it gets decent mileage, the road noise inside is too much to put up with. I think Honda is trading on name now instead of building better cars.

Definitely not my "cup of tea" as the perfect vehicle . . . however, Honda's Pilot has not been doing as well as most of their models with the "experts" (Car Magazines and other articles).

Hondas do seem to have alot of road noise. That is my one of two complaints I have with my wife's 2004 CRV. The other being its skinny right arm rest for the driver. I do like its power and 28mpg's.

I think that they definitely have had problems with the road noise because one of the new features they advertise is double (something) glass to reduce noise.
