Great news if that is correct. There was a rumor last year they were coming to Florence but apparently did not happen. Will be competition for QT and Spinx. Also would be nice if we would get a WaWa but they don't compete in QT territory.
Anderson County is a good location for Buc-ee's as it is a big midway travel stop between Charlotte and Atlanta on I-85 and is a logical southeastern expansion region. They are mainly in Texas but also have locations in Alabama and Florida. Next I would think they may want to infill in Georgia perhaps Atlanta region, or even possibly Macon or Valdosta.
There is already a big QT truck stop travel store on I-85 in Anderson County and I think it may be the same Exit 21 where the new Buc-ee's is planning to build.

Life gets tougher for Stewart Spinks and his family. Spinks is a wealthy guy, but he would probably be a lot wealthier by now if QT had never moved into the region.
I had not seen this thread earlier. I remember seeing pay and benefits posted on a big sign last time I was in Buc-ee's. Starting pay was well above minimum wage and with 3 weeks vacation. An article mentioned Buc-ee's paying for infrastructure improvements to exit 21 to handle the increased traffic. This is a big win for Anderson.
