This area is going through some changes. Can't wait to see what it turns into.

From what I've heard, a small commercial/professional core is to be built at the corner of Verdae & Salters Rd.

Interesting. It's going to get busy around there, with all the jobs coming and it being right near ICAR.

Some of the retail village is under construction right at the traffic circle at Legacy Park. Looks like it will be a nice urban village.

A nice article about Verdae (and Greenville) has been published by The New York Times.

I used to love going down Verdae when it was all woods on the one side. I hated to see all that chopped down for all the concrete that's going there now.

I understand how you feel, but the land/vegetation along that stretch of road has never struck me as all that attractive. I say the development and new landscaping is and/or will eventually be an improvement.

The vast majority of those trees were damaged beyond repair due to the ice storms in the mid 2000s. Also, having development like this in the heart of the metro area helps cut down on sprawl.

Plus, the pine forests were planted on this land for the purpose of being harvested anyway.
