Hello, I'm a single gal from Denver coming into Fort Lauderdale for three days this week for some R & R on the beach. Can anyone recommend a good place for fish tacos or a good cuban or carribean restaurant? I really enjoy authentic and ethnic restaurants. I'm adventurous and want to go beyond your typical American style restaurants. I'm willing to drive to Miami if need be.

Thank you,

to life

best carribean restaurant in south florida...although a little pricey....is Orantique on the mile in Coral Gables Main Post Page

Beleive it or not, Bahama Breeze has gotten really good lately. I was there recently and the menu is vibrant and electric ! Welcome to Bahama Breeze - Your Destination for Caribbean Cuisine.

A little hole in the wall that has excellent mexican food and is higly rated with real "from scratch" tacos is Alegria Taco restaurant....

I love Bahama Breeze, especially their chicken and steak kabobs.

I've been to Bahama Breeze before, it is very good....

Thank you so much for your response...does Alegria have fish tacos?

Also, is there a cuban restaurant you enjoy?

for Cuban....any Las Vegas cuban restaurant is a good one...they have several in broward. La Careta has gone down in quality over the years IMO, so I would avoid that.

I cannot stand Bahama Breeze - ick!

I heard Bajas has good fish tacos. I also agree on the Cuban places - yummy! Las Vegas is in a few locations but remains pretty good.

For really good fish tacos, go to Seattle.

Best Fish Tacos in Ft Lauderdale ? - Miami - Ft. Lauderdale - Chowhound

Also I think I had pretty good fish tacos at Flanigan's... can't see them on their website now, however their dolphin fingers are quite tasty:
