They've never been common. I could only find one white cooktop made by Summit.

I am not confused! I grew up and we called the stove that had an oven a stove, not a range. Perhaps the terminology has changed but I still call it a stove.

Well then if you're looking for a white oven, there are dozens of them, and you can buy them on sale at Best Buy, Lowes, Walmart, Target, Home Depot, Costco.

Some of them have scratch-n-dents for cheap you can roll right out of the store, if you don't mind a tiny mark on the bottom that you can easily cover up with a dot of white nail polish.

So, if you're not confused, then you're just looking inefficiently. I saw a bunch for sale at Lowe's yesterday.

Just curious if anyone else is in my situation?

I'd contact whatever manufacturer you're interested in and ask them about availability.

Manufacturers are going to make what the buyers want. In the last 10 years or so most of them are looking at HGTV and Magnolia network programs like House Hunters and Property Brothers for their decorating ideas. Without fail potential buyers seeing white appliances will say "we'll have to replace those old appliances" because everyone must have either stainless steel or one of the newest colors like black stainless. Oddly enough, when shopping for a new range recently I saw the "Modern White" at some places, so maybe white is coming back, but now in a matte white.

A range is a stove with burners and an oven. A stove is a cook top.

The term "range" and "stove" are interchangeable. Good grief...
