I wake up every day and pinch myself. Especially this time of year. I am in a short sleeve shirt today, just drove back from taking a walk on the beach and I am working on my balcony now to close out the day.

Good luck!
You've only been here two years.

Meet you right back here in 15 years after you have lived through 17 years of 7-month oppressive summers, had a couple homes (and cars and boats) obliterated by a hurricane, had to live in your brother's house for months without electricity or AC in 95 degree heat and humidity (forget working from home in Florida after a hurricane; power and Internet will be out weeks/months), had your dog eaten by a gator, and had flying roaches land on your head.

I'm still here, until the last of my father's family is 6 feet under!

Then I'm OUT permanently.

I worked from home after a hurricane and during a week+ longer power outage. Internet was fiber optic which was under ground and the fiber internet service didn't go down. Had a generator and was able to connect the internet router to the generator and successfully worked from home. Wasn't that bad actually.

I'm guessing you live in Gateway or Babcock Ranch?

We live in unincorporated south Sarasota county and have Frontier FIOS which is underground. We never lost internet during Ian. We have a solar system with back up batteries that kicked in when the power went out. We used a generator during Irma and had internet when power was down. Fiber optics for internet had been good for us.
