it's some kind of fairytail thinking legal immigrants working here are all for illegals working here...they don't want illegals taking their jobs either
The real fairytale is the belief that illegals working picking crops for $5-$9 a bushel are competing with legal documented immigrants.

absolutely they're not competing....the legals will turn them in

that was the only reason H2N had to be re-written and the rules changed

now someone working here on H2N can only work for the person that sponsored them

you can't complain that there's a shortage of workers....and at the same time say they are so stupid they don't know what a dollar is worth...

if the guy across the street offered them 25 cents more....they would go pick his crop

if an illegal offers to do it for less....they turn him in....there's no benefit for working illegals...you pay them the same

probably 1/2 million migrant farm workers in Florida....and probably 1/2 of those undocumented

farm workers are also plant nursery, landscape, even yard maintenance....most with less than 25 employees, or some working under the table

...the "farms" growing produce are too big....they are working union workers....migrant camps and all

I gleefully await the fallout from this when those all so hot for this happening encounter supply chain issues here in FL.
Regardless of what Governor Desantis wants, most Americans don't want illegals coming acrross like they are now, and most of us want it stopped immediately.

Poll after poll after poll shows this to be true.

I have not heard of any crops rotting in any fields here in FLA.

It doesn't really matter what the majority of Floridians want, or don't want. What matters is what the majority of immigrants, legal or otherwise, working in agriculture, construction, landscaping, roofing - what THEY want.

If they don't want to be treated as lesser sub-humans anymore, if they feel they're being pressured even MORE than before, because of more restrictions on their - what was it again - oh yeah - FREEDOM...

then they'll find some other place to work. Somewhere not in Florida.

And then we'll be stuck with a whole lot of work that needs to be done, and not a whole lot of people willing to do it.

California is a great producer of food, among other things, but it is not renowned for its flour and bread.

Cue up Ron ordering his lawmakers to relax child labor laws and, voila, problem solved.

It'll be awesome when all those straight white people on welfare, WIC, and food stamps are told they'll be cut off unless their 10-year-old goes to work in the fields and earns their keep.

They'll still vote for desantis and insist he's the best governor ever though. Because they have been indoctrinated.

The illegals are leaving, not those on work Visas...2 different groups in 2 different curcumstances.

Desantis doesn't want illegals here, & neither do the vast majority of Floridians. We all want lots of LEGAL immigrants to come here, through the normal LEGAL process where controls are in place to minimize any negative impact...like drug smuggling, human trafficking, criminals entering, & the spread of disease.

Also, the vast majority of Americans feel the same way as the vast majority of Floridians. Its a small minority of radicals who are for illegal immigration w/o controls, & some of those are corrupt polititicians, and employers.

B-T-W..we have Watermelons coming out of our ears here in FLA right now...more than we can eat.

The OP needs to "know when to fold 'em" ...their position is a losing hand here in FLA, & nearly everyplace else too.

The vast majority of drug smuggling is being committed by American citizens. Almost all of the fentanyl seized at the border this past year was smuggled in by Americans. Most of the human trafficking is being committed by Americans. Most drug abusers in the USA are Americans. Most criminals in the USA are Americans. Most diseased people in the USA are Americans.

How about we give the foreigners a chance. Maybe they'll get right, what Americans are incapable of getting.
