Aren't you glad you don't live here?

When you think of dry, you usually think of sweltering heat and a massive sun. But, extreme cold temperatures can lead to incredibly dry areas as well. McMurdo, Antarctica, is known as the driest place on earth. Found in an area called the Dry Valleys, McMurdo has seen no rain for nearly 2 million years. There has been no precipitation in the area for nearly as long, covering over 4800 square kilometers of no water, ice, or snow. The lack of water in the area is due to extremely cold temperatures, where temperatures never get higher than -10 degrees Celsius.

Much rather live where you do.

Gotta have millions to live in south FL or at least on the water. I still want to move to Glades county but not paying over 800k to wire in power.

They have power in Glades county!

I agree with you about living in south Florida. Maybe there are a few affordable areas left, but I sure couldn't afford to live there any more. I was looking at our old house in Palmetto Bay there on Zillow. That's southern Miami-Dade county, and our house ( which HAS been completely updated, looks like, but basically the same old ranch style) is assessed at something like 1.3 million. Nothing in that neighborhood, even the places that look to not have had much work done on them, for less than $800,000. It's nuts. And they are not on any water.
