It feels like we are experiencing a hurricane or tropical storm minus the wind these past few weeks. All this rain has chased me into the house way too often. Sporadic sunshine is not what I signed up for.
My AC has been loving the cloud cover big time. My dog keeps looking at me, wondering why we are not outside. I can't imagine what flooding would occur in the tampa bay area if we did have a hurricane this year.

No problem with it whatsoever. Just have to be extra cautious on the roadways. It has affected my running routes. One has been flooded for the past week. Not used to using treadmills, stairmaster but you do what you have to do. Grass is nice and green as well as all the landscaping.....

Weather forecasters remain concerned that there is a hurricane season with the hurricane season.

The Gulf Water is warm “This is high-octane fuel that is all waiting in the wings for the first storm,” Rouiller said. “This is all untapped, and it will really intensify storms.”

"Only two named storms have developed in the Atlantic so far this year. Dry, dusty air from Africa’s Sahara robbed potential storms of moisture, and wind shear spurred by the El Nino climate systems ripped apart budding storms. Now, those brakes on hurricane development are gone."

They crack me up.....can't predict crap...and by the time they say something....it changes every time...

...more dry air and more Saharan dust coming right behind it

Our day is coming for a super CAT5 with gust over 220mph. Wait until mid Sept till Oct for some kind of action in the gulf. Dust makes it a bust at this time and the upper levels are not in favor for anything now.

Don't know anything about geology, but the rain has got to help water tables. And sinkholes.....do they appear with heavy rain or periods of drought. Anyway, hope the rain minimizes them....
