Bravo for not taking federal money. This is EXACTLY what we need more states to do.

But its "OK" to keep it cheap for themselves? eventually this will lead to riots because people can only take so much abuse by these fake politicians when they already make 6 figures and can afford everything with ease? I find this insulting.

But just to clarify, I am not in favor of welfare, however when salaries never grow what should people do? See because at the same time they oppose abortion, so now people don't have a free choice not to increase family sizes. If salaries would grow to a point where people could easily afford their insurance, nobody would complain about it.

People have this conception that to have health insurance for all is "taking care of them for free" , yet if a man with 4 kids can't see a DR for lack of insurance just gets sicker, then one day he falls, and we take him to an ER and pay his hosptial bill, then Dr said he can't work as he let his illness go far too long, so we pay for his food, housing and a place to live to include all 4 kids, n wifey, now he can't pay his bills so he files Bankruptcy, which ultimately we all pay for,,, really folks??

Exactly. People don't have access to health care now. There are a lot of people who shouldn't be on welfare but are because their incomes are too small to support a family and go to the dr. We put our own people on welfare. (or I should say republicans do purposely and then have the nerve to complain that there are too many on welfare). Businesses don't pay benefits here in Tampa, few do, and the benefits are not covering anything. I can't take the insurance from work because I can't afford it. It would take out $800 out of my paycheck! how am I supposed to pay my rent, my gas bill, my food? etc. Those who cannot afford health insurance end up in the ER (these are legal US citizens, and not illegals) and then they can't pay those bills, so they go to collections ruining people's credit and buying power. Its like we want to hurt our own people purposely. I don't get it.

I didn't say anything about anything, EXCEPT that I am glad to see they refused federal money. That is a great step forward. Any deeper comments could be considered political and would be best served in the political forum, not in the local Tampa Bay forum. Actually, I believe this particular thread should be in the greater Florida forum.....until people get political with it.

The problem is people divert the discussion to somewhere else.

The question is why a politician pay $30/month to cover his/her entire family using state money when a lot more people pay much more than that? This should outrage everybody!

It was posted in TAMPA Bay Times.

Please explain why you think that, your statement is too broad.
