You actually believe the prison and legal system is profitable? They don't even prosecute half the cases because of the cost. You can plead yourself out of almost anything. I know a guy who pulled an armed robbery because he needed a heart operation and sure enough the tax payers had to pay for it. It cost a fortune to keep someone in jail and forget about the ones that are sick or old and need all kinds of medical stuff.

Lots of machines pumping away in Broward and Miami-Dade.

Not to mention the Seminoles are running practically full fledged casinos anyway... blackjack, roulette, craps, poker, you name it.

Granted some of the casinos and racinos aren't the best, but they're a start. Gulfstream has a nice area upstairs (and really the whole complex is beautiful now. Besides racing and the casino there's shopping and restaurants. Really phenomenal) places like Magic City down in Miami aren't that great... mostly just slots and VP in a drop ceiling room, but still, it works in a pinch.

So the oldest part of the state with the most natives is "not the real Florida"? C'mon. I think you've got it backwards.

Exactly and it's already happening with the pain mangement crowd and it's completly legal with an accurate MRI and proof of injury to receive narcotic pain medication, yet these folks are constantly harrassed.

There's a ton of money to be made to defend alleged "doctor shoppers"......just a new industry to keep the defense lawyers busy.

I'd be fine with legalized marijuana, but the same rules should apply to it as does with alcohol. If someone gets caught driving while they're high they should get a DUI, and if they show up to work high they should be subject to termination.

It's always the ones that don't know how to control themselves that cause the problems.

I wasn't talking about Native Americans, I was talking about native Floridians, people who were born and raised in Florida and know the history of the state. Is that clear enough?

agreed on the driving issue. as for work, it's the employers choice. i worked with people who smoke loads of weed and it doesn't hinder their performance. as an employer i base my decisions on results
