My Mom used this product as a nightly masque for her entire adult life and was always complimented on how beautiful her complexion was, and shocked at her age upon hearing it. As a guy I had used it religiously as a teen and avoided any kind of acne/pimple outbreaks. As an adult I use it less often but do when feeling my skin seems off and needing some attention. Who else has stories of the $6 beauty secret?

I've never used it as a beauty aid, but as a child I was slathered in it after spending the entire day at the beach and suffering from severe sunburn. I wasn't aware it was still being produced.

Noxzema is a unique beauty product, IMO. I worked with it from the product development lab through manufacturing when I worked at Noxell Corporation while it was still owned by the founding Bunting family. The formula for the essential oils in the product was very tightly held, and the manufacturing facility was spotless since Noxzema fell under FDA pharmaceutical regulations. The cream, once it goes into the jars, has to be refrigerated for a very specific amount of time so the essential oils can develop the crystalline structure that gives Noxzema its signature "crunch" sensation. It also smells a lot better than the Lestoil cleaner I also worked with.

I haven’t heard of Noxema for years. I didn’t know they still made it.

Noxema I used in my 20&30's.
I loved this stuff. Gave me a peaches & cream complexion.
I'm afraid to try it now, afraid I'll be disappointed after all these years.
Pretty sure over time the product has changed.
I can still smell it as I type!

It hasn't changed at all from what I can tell, only the packaging a little bit.

Every major retailer carries it and online with Amazon, etc.

My grandmothers, mom, aunts, and cousins all use Noxzema with beautiful results. They always believed that "Noxzema draws up the impurities in your skin and then keeps your skin beautiful once it's detoxed." It irritated and caused breakouts for me, so I'd always discontinue use (I didn't have that kind of patience lol)

My skin loves Cetaphil cleansing lotion. It has never given me any problems.

As for Noxzema, I always have a small sample size handy. It reminds me of happiness

I love this thread. Makes me glad all these "ancient" remedies are still around: Noxzema, Witch Hazel, Bluing, etc. I saw a great video posted by a Facebook friend the other day about a cattleman who uses a mixture of organic materials hanging around the house to de-worm his cattle. ("None of that commercial stuff!") We'll never be able to change the era of chemicals, but it's nice to know that we can still use old-fashioned products. I never could use Noxzema because as a teen I had acne but I'll bet I could use it now...
