Question Back then!

Those were great times. Saw Heuey Lewis and the News there at the tree top...probably 1980? Great local bands too: City; Windfall; Dark Hart; Icarus; etc...there was a certain rhythm and vibe to El Paso's party scene back then. I think of the line from a Steely Dan tune: "That shape is my shade, there where I use to stand." If you could only google those images that are lodged in our mind....

There was a wax museum in the 60s/70s, in the basement of a building near the bridge. There was a guy dressed as a Frankenstein wax figure that would "come alive" and scare the crap out of people when they walked by.

In the late 60's, the bars were Fred's, The Sub, and the Cave. Or we could drive to the Bronco and sit in the car to drink.
