I can't recall the brand name, but our dogs go NUTS over the freeze dried liver treats that come in a container. I think we get them from PetSmart? Our nickname for them is puppy-crack . Our dogs will do ANYTHING for these treats, it's kind of scary.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I was using Science Diet soft/chewy treats (can't remember the exact name) but I thought my puppy went a little too nuts over them. I alternate between MilkBone and Kong treats -- I prefer something that takes a few seconds of crunching -- but I usually break them in half so he's not getting too much. I also freeze some Kong busy toys with "light" peanut butter smeared inside....he usually only gets those when he's in his crate and I'm trying to distract him as I'm leaving. Plus I don't want the peanut butter all over the floor or carpet.
My doggies love Yummy Chummie Salmon Treats, Zukes Mini Naturals and Z-Filets and Honest Kitchen's Pecks. I also make "pupsicles" using peanut butter, yogurt and natural applesauce. I fill mini muffin pans, freeze, pop them out into zip lock bags and back in the freezer. I do the same thing with canned pumpkin. On special occasions I bake liver treats - will provide the recipe upon request.
Having four dogs that are very treat motivated, I also use fresh fruits and vegetables as treats. A few of their favorites are watermelon, cantaloupe, apples, mango, bananas and pears. For veggies they love baby carrots, frozen green beans right out of the bag, and red bell peppers. LOL
Little nubby carrots & green beans.
Bananas & Popcorn, once in awhile.
They love watermelon & cantaloupe, too.
Two of the dogs LOVE pecans, but the others don't care for them.
I bake them homemade biscuits a few times a year, also.
