Your dog looks like a chocolate lab to me.

And SouthernBelleInUtah... I have to agree that the biggest biters are small dogs. We have "dangerous" dogs listed on our Sheriffs Department website, and I'd say at least 80% of them are small dogs. And I'm a small dog owner.

A quick check to see if it is Lab, does it have webbed feet. Not just a little skin between the toes, but webbing that goes at least half way down the length of the toes. That's a sure fire sign of the Lab. Usually the Lab is the dominant influence in a Lab mix of any sort.
Then claim the other dog was a boxer. Don't even mention Pit or AmStaff.

I dont see much pit but its hard to tell from the one clear photo. Labs can be musular dogs themselves, my uncles was purebred and built like brick wall as he was uber active. Muscles in itself are enough to trow it in with the "type" or "anything that resembles" wording in any BSL laws.

He looks a lot like one of my dogs did when she was little. Her baby pics aren't digital, so I don't have one to post, but here she is as a 7 year old. She is 1/2 lab-1/2 pit bull as far as we know:

I should add, sometimes a white blaze on the throat/chest, white socks or toes, or a mix of toenails (some black, some pink) can be indicators of pit bull.

It's not always the case, but these are common markings in a pit and you won't find those markings on a lab.

I see Lab in her and she's a cutie.

Just wanted to add that I have an English Lab w/ a wide muzzle and have been asked what he is because people aren't use to see a full blooded one true to confirmation.

I'll bet most people have never seen an English or show-type Lab outside of watching Westminster on TV. It would be great if you could post a picture of your dog.

We had a show-type when I was young. He had shorter legs, a squarer head and a shorter muzzle than the usual Labs my father trained. Everyone was surprised that this guy excelled in field work. I'm not sure how many bench-bred dogs get a chance to do field work, but Atom was multi-talented.
