I go to a nutritionist at her home office, and she has 2 rescue Great Danes. One of them is deaf and nearly blind and the dog recognizes me my the smell of my breath. Still, she is delightful. I’ve had dogs who went deaf, but never both deaf and blind.

My point is, we need to understand that dogs sense things differently.

You are wondering how many butts my husband licks? Seriously?

That's a strange stance to double down on....

Well, I don't know any (sane) humans that would sniff other humans pee and poop, occasionally lick or eat it, or perform self-hygiene by licking their parts ...

I kiss my critter all over his face....even his lips and nose. I can't help myself. He's so soft and wonderful and he smells good and is warm. I even kiss his tummy. OMG. Occasionally he slips a french by me and I'm like ICK but I don't run off to brush my teeth or anything. I'm still kicking so any germs he's carting around can't be that bad.
