Glad to hear he is doing better and praying he will be home with you tomorrow. I wonder if his stay there while being a young puppy will influence how he sees vets as I imagine they are giving him lots of attention.
My 10 yr old dog Chaos came from a high kill shelter in Texas as a puppy after I saw her photo online. I am in California and had to work all week but was able to adopted her over the phone with the promise I would get her pulled from the shelter within the next 2 days. I contacted someone I met on this forum that lived in that area and she was willing to go pick up the puppy and take her to her vets to board for the week until I could fly in to get her. It turned out to be a good thing as the puppy had giardia so they treated it. The best thing was the vet and her staffed spoiled the puppy and gave her a lot of attention and to this day she thinks going to the vets is like going to Disneyland! Yes even though it is a totally different vet. She thinks vets are wonderful people.
You may be on to something @Dashdog. When we picked him up and the two vets walked back to get his meds, he wanted to go with them!
We’re home again and he’s a different dog. Running, jumping, eating, pooping, chewing my shoes, grabbing my wife’s pants at the bottom…..everything a little puppy is supposed to do! He’s 10x better than before. We’re so thrilled to have our little guy back again. If we register him, I’ll note his middle name as Miracle!
We weighted him today…kind of. First, Bosch & I got on the scales and then, just me. It shows well over a pound gained. I believe it - he eats like a horse.
Pictures? These are poor quality- my phone is streaming the news so I had to use the iPad and the quality shows it.
You can see where they shaved around his eye and where he had the IV on his leg:
He’s not supposed to be pulling stuff due to his eye. It doesn’t need anymore pressure on it.
He is a typical Vizsla puppy! The collar, for him, is a minor inconvenience. His eye looks like it’s healing well and his pneumonia seems to be slacking off.
(Excuse the mess, we’re temporarily in an apartment while building a house. Yeah, our life didn’t really need more stress but…..we got this!)
With a pup you got to tuck those corners Future Service Dog!
With a pup, I barely find time to shower.
(Normally, I make the bed every day but Lord knows, I truly appreciate the great advice!)
