There is nothing wrong with taking a dog on a breeding contract as long as the terms are really clear and all in writing.
Any dog bought from a reputable breeder is going to have a return-to-breeder contract, so free and clear ownership of high end dogs isn't easy to come by for people just starting out in show quality dogs.
That's a lovely well bred dog. No breeder would hand a dog like that to first time dog owners with no strings attached. OP is getting a quality dog and a mentor all in one package.
Having been involved with Breeding contract both males & females THES contracts are Not for Pet people. Let them get a Pet thats Spay. An older male or female that has been fixed. Not the ins & outs of breeders contracts.
