Tell me this. Why would anyone try to kiss a unknown dog in the mouth? Better yet why would you kiss any dog in the mouth?

What a shame for both of them, glad she didnt lose an eye or something. They said the dog had just been rescued hours before and prob. was exhausted and the camera lights probably added to its stress. Even strange small dogs from known backgrounds s/b approached w/ caution, most of the time they're probably fine but dogs are dogs and anything can set them off. Hope the anchor has a speedy recovery w/ no visible scars (am sure they got a top-notch plastic surgeon) and the dog won't be penalized under the circumstances, obviously it needs some quiet time to relax (assuming its behavior in the past has been OK).

I bet she never puts her face up to a dog again. Hopefully the dog isn't punished for this.

I heard today the dog has been adopted and is going home. Sounds like the news has used this as a lesson. Thankfully.

Many dogs, my own included, do not like to be looked straight into their eyes. They see this as an affront, like a daring. It took many, many years for my dog to let me look at his eyes, and kiss his nose, without complaining.

Very sad what happened to this lady. I Am sure she did not think about the consequences of her actions, at that moment, and took lots of things for granted. No animal, no matter how domesticated it seems, should be trusted not to bite. It really makes me angry when I see a new mother . exposing a baby's face to a dog . Dogs get very jealous of new babies in a home, and lots of new parents are not aware of this.

Correct. He was never up for adoption. He was quarantined due to the lack of vaccination(s). He is headed home to his original owner.
