A small system is coming through the western slope, looks like it will miss Mesa County but Craig, Rangely and Steamboat will get it along with 20-25 m.p.h.winds. Glenwood Canyon was shut down for a time yesterday with a 20 vehicle slammer near the rest area. UGH!

West Loveland got some 7 inches on NYE. We live a few miles east of the foothills. It all started around 8AM on NYE.

As far as any vehicle pileup goes, keeps both the insurance companies and body repair shops in business.

Hello from Golden! Looks like 6-10” of snow may be on the way for tomorrow, at least according to AccuWeather. I hope we get the snow; we definitely need the moisture!

The previous storm, on New Year’s Eve, brought about 7” of snow to my yard.

KKCO-11 news has revised this forecast a tad. surprisingly they say only 2 inches in Craig but 12 inches in Steamboat Springs. Rabbit Ears Pass is 24 to 30 inches, Vail Pass 12 to 14 inches. Been butt cold the last 5 days but it should warm up to around 40 degrees by the weekend.

At 2PM this afternoon, the snow started flying here in west Loveland. Gusts of wind are accompanying it. As I post this, at 2:25PM, snow is coming down at a rather good clip.

It's been fairly quiet in mesa County this week, temps in the upper 30's A small system is coming through this weekend, not much for the GJ area. Those two storms we had in the last few weeks really helped on the snowpack, particularly the Grand Mesa, Crested Butte area and a good portion of the northwest area. KKCO-11 says snowpack is 125% of normal in these areas.

Been quiet in western Colorado somewhat the last several days but it has dropped in temperature for sure. low will be 5 degrees tonight. A big mess is going on in eastern Colorado--lots of snow, road closures on the passes, etc.

Yes, here in Loveland/Ft Collins, 8 or so inches of snow and, as I post this, -12 degrees! Forecast was for -6, but it is minus 12! Not much moving around outside.

As for us, the only reason we'd return to Florida is if/when wife's brother passes away. Other than that, we have absolutely no interest in any part of Florida at all. The 10 1/2 years there (Jacksonville) were enough for us. We did go to other parts of Florida, like Key West, Orlando, Tampa and Lake City, but "no thanks".
