I work near Garden of the Gods and we had several cars in our parking lot get their windows broken and blown out by the wind, several big trees came down, pieces of roof and building torn off, etc. Lots of trees down all over the neighborhood. On my drive to work this morning the exit off the Interstate light would never change to let us turn because the camera had blown out of whack and never saw the cars - that is probably very low on their list of things to get to right now. We kept power but everything was flickering. Lots of people still without power around town.

And the big storm they have been predicting is here-and how!! And the thing that is worrisome right now is the wind gusts. Mesa County, at least the Grand Junction area, is getting only rain. The Grand Mesa will end up with 16-20 inches of snow. Same with Southwest Colorado. The mountains have been way behind in moisture, this storm won't catch up with where we should be at, but it sure helps. Fox31 this morning showed a mess on Vail Pass just a bit ago, but for now no road closures except for Loveland Pass.

That was a hefty storm that blew through the western slope and the snowfall amount at my house after the second wave was 8 inches, and that's on top of the 4 inches we got on Wednesday. It's butt cold outside now, low temps will be single digits for the next couple nights. Still, it was most welcome this is the biggest storm Fruita has seen in years, maybe in a decade or two!
