I got my license at Pomona office a little over 20 yrs ago. Took my drivers test at OCIR. Started racing my stock Cad over 50 yrs ago when Pomona first opened up. I would chirp the tires in 2nd and 3rd (automatic). My dad was a top mechanic and had built the engine for me. Got beat by a Lincoln ( 1 ft). Can't win them all. Thanks for asking. Steve
You're just a kid than. I was at OCIR in the 60's with Terry Hedrick, Seaton's Super Shaker. I worked for Dick Hedrick, Terry's cousin, we did Terry's heads. Things were different than teams didn't have a machine shop in their hauler. We went out there to buy Doug Thorley's Chevy II Much. I'm an old dude.
Sorry studedude, I raced a 49 cad convert that I bought when out of the service in 52 and ran it at POMONA. Nice try but you are still a KID, besides I am a Vet of WW11. and KOREA. It was later on that I got my NHRA drivers license via Pomona/OCIR in Irvine. Steve.
Sorry Steve. I assumed you were a kid when you got your license. Should have known better my son and I were both making license runs at the same time in this,
