Laguna Playhouse

Situated less than a mile north of Laguna Art Museum, Laguna Playhouse provides a rich cultural and educational experience for children and adults alike.

Founded in 1920, the Laguna Playhouse held its first performance in a living room. Later, a group of local artists joined to form a community cultural society and built the first playhouse near downtown Laguna Beach. During WWII, the playhouse entertained troops and hosted USO dances. Finally, in 1969, the Laguna Playhouse was built where it stands today with a funds from a generous private donation.

Laguna Playhouse's youth education program offers cultural education for children with the belief that "unleashing the imagination is crucial to the development of both the mind and soul." Patrons can purchase tickets through their website (www.lagunaplayhouse.com) or at the Laguna Playhouse box office Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (and until 8:00 p.m. on performance days). The 420-seat theater is also available for rental when not being used for performances.

Situated in Laguna Beach CA, halfway between Los Angeles and San Diego, it takes a one-hour drive to arrive at the Laguna Playhouse. Other nearby attractions include Laguna Beach, Laguna Art Museum, Laguna Canyon Winery, shopping, parks, lodging, and dining.:
