Crystal Cove State Park

Crystal Cove State Park, located at Laguna Beach, CA, contains over 3 ½ miles of coastline to explore. The beach waters have been designated as an underwater park that attracts scuba and skin divers. Other common beach activities include: swimming, fishing, surfing, kayaking, sunbathing, and exploration of the beach's tide pools and coves. The inland park provides trails for hiking, horseback riding and mountain biking.

There are three designated overnight camping areas within the San Joaquin Hills about three miles inland, and take between three and six hours of uphill hiking from the beach depending on experience level of the hikers. Camping is not permitted on the beach and visitors not staying at the overnight campsites are required to leave the park by sunset.

The nearby Crystal Cove Historic District features 22 restored cottages open for public rental and a public tour of the area on the second Saturday of every month. The visitor center provides exhibits about the history and culture of the cove and its community.

Park access is available at three different locations: Reef Point, Pelican Point and Los Trancos. Each includes a parking lot and restroom facilities. Crystal Cove is 50 miles south of Los Angeles and 75 miles north of San Diego in the Orange County area.
