First house looks like a bargain. Second home, 1.6M for 6k square feet? I could probably get something here in SoCal for it.
Thanks for the underhanded California boost. Obviously it's still a bargain compared to a lot of places.
I'm talking relative to when I first started traveling to Grand Rapids around 2016, That first house would have gone for less than $200k 8 years ago. Home prices in those neighborhoods have more than doubled. By Midwestern standards I don't know if one would consider Grand Rapids "a bargain" anymore.
Technically the area in the original link is not Sugar Land and is Alief. It’s however the nicer/nicest sort of Alief that borders Sugar Land or from a Sugar Land perspective the rougher part of Sugar Land that borders this house in an Alief neighborhood. Reality is Alief and this overall area is a lot better than perception.
But if your technical this is not a Sugar Land home.
I guess the house I live in which I bought 12 years ago for $210,000.....now worth very close to $400,000. Sad commentary on the state of the economy in the US.

Apologies. Not my intent at all. I meant to say that 1.6M for 6 sqft is similar to homes priced out here. Not sure if that should be read as a boost or detraction. It seems very expensive, but real estate is local is all I meant.

No problem, perhaps I misread your post. I don't think the city is expensive compared to places especially on the west coast, was just surprised how much they've gone up over the last few years. Though I suppose that's everywhere.
A 75 year old fixer that needs a ton of work (such that it is not an economically feasible proposition). Oh, and there is only one of these and only because the price just dropped $40k. You can choose from 3 relatively newer 2 br / 2 ba townhouses.

I've heard GR has been expensive for the midwest. But, I'm also a big enough geek to realize it was a hot city, just below the Boise's of the world, so I'm not shocked. And again, real estate is local and even the smallest cities have 7 or 8 figure homes.
My original intent was just to say that 1.6M home is as expensive as a lot of homes out here.
