Another Chicago home. This Another mid-century modern from 1968. What I luv is SAME OWNER since 1968 and meticulously cared for. To some it is a bit outdated inside. To me just So TIMELESS, RETRO, Nostalgic. Like stuck somewhere between the 60s and met and ended in the 80s. Right off the photos show the basement. Can you SCREAM any more 60s retro with a 80s mix. Still love the light oak. If you are going to have paneling. I has to be this oak. The orange and furnishings bar especially I WOULD NOT CHANGE. Drop ceiling even.
The furnishings just so RETO sort of 60s 70s. Again, light oak paneling to me is still timeless. If dark It losses me. The bathrooms even I would not change. Kitchen also despite long time down linolenum. Tile can be a pain. Keeping it clean over years and maintained if not on concrete can be also. It is a RARE so well maintained stuck in time home that I personally luv it the way it is. Exterior will ALWAYS remain Timeless.

The RETRO everything I love. The BASEMENT Finished Retro-look intact. Just so interesting and having ONE OWNER for 53-yrs and loved and cared for.
Next. Listed as a Victorian. 134 yrs old.
This is another UNUSUAL ECLECTIC hodgepodge home. This listed as a Victorian. Has some of it intact. A bit inside. Livingroom and awesome staircase. Not the Kitchen. Just a odd mix. You can't get much older in Chicago because of its 1871 fire and much else from pre-fire. This built 1887 -134 yrs old and had to have been all by its lonesome at one time. There before it probably was a early suburb then. Chicago passed a ordinance after the Great Fire that all new-builds had to be brick. So some did not want to pay the additional cost of brick and built outside the city. By early 1900s they were annexed. Key Hip neighborhoods of the city were mostly early suburbs after the great fire.

Old woodwork still in a Livingroom and awesome wood staircase. Modern Kitchen not keeping the older vibe though. Just a odd mix of a home.
LOVE Thought the QUAINT Little Studio/1 bedroom part in the Basement. Can see a teen going to school living there or the Mother-in-law. or me alone. As It is that cozy and efficient. I am sure a lot of original history to this old-girl. Would have love to see it all when original Victorian features intact.
Next another Chicago mid-century modern type. Not called that. Full brick again built 1956. SAYS YOU CAN BE THE 2nd OWNER OF THIS HOME. SO ONE OWNER FOR 68yrs. Another mix of Original kitchen even probably countertop? Rest just nice light oak floors and woodwork.
IT IS THE BASEMENT THAT HITS YOU IN THE FACE..... a OMG WOW. Full kitchen nicer then upstairs. All Tiled block floor So bright and airy open floor. I could live in the basement no problem.
Picture #21 shows the STEEL BEAM these homes had that was part of the home showing in the unfinished part of the basement. These all do well in creating a more open-floor plan if so desired also.
Says basically, ONE OWNER since 1956. :shocked

3 beds/2 baths. KILLER FINISHED BASEMENT.
1,450 sq/ft - without the basement.
Selling Price - $375,000 - TAXES - 1,159. Another they will get you in a hefty increase to the new buyer.
All 3 homes are Northwest side neighborhoods of Chicago. Not the Hip gentrified ones where prices are WAY UP. Same homes on the Southwest side would be 10s of thousands less. Same great neighborhoods too.
Guess we pay a premium just to be on the Northside and in taxes.
