Does anyone have any experience or information about William S. Hall Psych. Hospital in Columbia, SC? Specifically, the Adolescent Recovery/Dual Diagnosis Unit, or the 'Directions' Unit?

It's a living hell on Earth, my heart goes out to people who are sent there and their families. It is a crooked, run down, state funded institution that charges 1100 dollars a day for a disgusting, trashy facility where teenagers are kept there against there will and allegedly "treated" for various issues. I still have nightmares about being there. I was sent there due to a lopsided probate court system as I also reside in York County. I know this is six years old but I can not reiterate how awful that place is and how overjoyed I am that it is closing and it has been over a year since I left! It almost brings tears to my eyes to think about that place being shut down forever, I wish it had never been opened, it is an injust punishment for a crime that hasn't been committed and the only unit that possibly does some good is the DJJ unit which is a 9 month stay for kids that have committed serious crimes such as arson and sex crimes. Once again, if anyone reads this because you have to go there or a family member is going then I recommend you resist as much as possible because their system of letting you leave is either your court order has a limited amount of time to it, usually 90 days, you get kicked out as I did because I couldn't take the mental anguish I went through every day, or you follow a ridiculous list of rules to a point that no human being, let alone an average teenager could be expected, let alone forced to follow. The longer you are there the fewer "points" you can lose in a day before that day doesn't count towards the SEVENTY-NINE you need to leave, once again I really recommend you resist in every way possible so they send you home, I was on a court order and nothing happened. As I said, I feel for anyone who has to suffer through that place I think about it every day, it was a living nightmare, the worst depression I've been through, and some of the worst reoccurring dreams I have are about being sent there. This may be kind of run on but I feel very strongly towards the rundown hell that is run there and that they are finally closing that horrible excuse for a "treatment center" of any kind. Thank you, have a nice day.
