Hi. We really like the Edenmoor and Carolina Lakes subdivision out in Indian Land. It seems like that area is really starting to boom. Our concern is that we heard there is a shooting range nearby which brings a lot of noise. Is this true? Is it disruptive? Does anyone know of plans for this range to close since there is a lot more residential real estate going up? We wouldn't want to move into a community where there is constant "booming" going on nearby. Anyone have any ideas about this??
That Charlotte Rifle and Pistol Club was established 1913, has generations of members, and was on that SC/Union County border property LONG, LONG, LONG, LONG before tract subdivision developers began to cast their eyes toward that area.
Committed membership, they won't be going anywhere.
Transplants should consider that range part of the landscape.

I live in Belair at Carolina Lakes. I will occassionally hear it on weekend afternoons but it's not really a big deal for my family and it doesn't sound "close" to my untrained, suburban ears.
I may be mistaken but it seems like I read in the little free, once weekly newspaper that they were actually considering closing down and selling out... it seems like there was something about them needing to have it rezoned to commercial first b/c the site wouldn't be appropriate for residential with the residue and byproducts of all the weapons.
