Anyone have any info-what it's really like to live there, cost of living, is it windy, do you get snow, etc.-on Cody they would like to share? I plan to visit this summer, but would like to hear opinions fom the "locals" before I get there. I do plan on relocating there, but not until my son graduates in 2007. Thanks for any responses.

Sorry-forgot to add this part: You may either respond on this list or email directly at eyesis@mail.com Thanks for any responses.

We live in Cody. Great town & close to most things one needs. No snow to speak of. Wind sometimes but it cleans the air! Water is good & plentiful & cheap, unlike many other areas Cody will never have water problems. Housing is affordable both new and older. Shopping is OK but if you need a Costco you drive to Billings which is only 100 miles. There is always something to do & see here. Streets are wide, crime is low and rodeo is, well it's Rodeo!

Thanks for the post Eyesis. I too am interested in Cody, but as a summer retirement place. I'd be grateful if you would pass on anything you don't mind sharing from direct email responses to your post.

I have enjoyed two visits to Cody and the surrounding areas. The town and people were wonderful and the scenery can not be beat. It seems like a very good place to spend the summer, maybe not so bad in the winter too if you are from the Midwest.

I am particularly interested in cost of living, land/home prices, and medical services.

It doesn't appear that Eyesis has logged into the forum since 2007. Hopefully someone else here can answer your questions about Cody.

Usually if someone does not answer up. Its either they didn't move to Cody. Or they did move. They do not participate in the Wyoming forum any more.

If you have noticed, I usually don't comment on people commenting on old threads. It is because it would surprise you of the results. Many people set their profile so that when others comment on a thread, the system sends them an email. They get the email and kind of wake up and they return. A lot of folks ask a few questions or make a few comments and when they do not get comments, they kind of move on and forget. Chances are, they are on other websites asking the same thing and they get answers there. Suddenly they get an email from City data that jogs their memory and they return. Typically they may have very well moved there and with settling in to a new job, meeting new friends, making the new building the new "home", they forget to come back and post to let us know how it went.

You never know, they may post and tell us all about it, it has happened many times.
