The totality, on its supersonic way from the Pacific to Atlantic Ocean, will pass right over Casper, which, being East of the Rockies, should have clearer skies than over Idaho Falls, &c. But shall we find a place in which to stay? Are hotel rooms being taken even now? Shall we find a parking bay or caravan plot? I fancy that Richard C Hoagland will be there, with tuning-fork watch attuned to torsion-field-detector, and assorted astronomers, together with pendulum-bearing colleagues for the Allais EffectAllais effect - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

How cool is that going to be? Looks like Jackson, Riverton, Casper and Douglas, (west to east), are the prime spots in WY. Thanks for the links/tip.

For the Casper fairgrounds, (right under the central path of the eclipse):

I think your calculation's right, based on Wyoming presenting itself to the sun six hours after Greenwich Mean Time, in Summer. Ironically, I've been trying to find a dual-time-zone, GMT, UTC, or ZULU watch for my modest wrist: But the only connection it'll have with aviation is in the way my money's to fly out the window now

Love Richard C, miss listening to C2C but I don't drive nights any longer. Maybe I'll start pod-casting again.

Sounds like we're going to get a good view in this area! Neat!
