And remember on one of these posts, someone else told of their short 5 months in a particular Wyoming town - they said it exactly the way it is. People are all related to each other here and they will let you know FOREVER that you are an outsider and you are not welcome. Be prepared to be by yourself most of the time, with people staring, asking questions "Why are you here?" "Why did you move here?", stupid **** like that.

Drive slow
Byron, Wy. friendly officer drives a big blue hemi Dodge P.U., population +- 544. So it should be very safe winter and summer. Quote: I ticket everyone going over 38/30. I was guilty of going 39. You will be able to recognize the P.U. it has lights everywhere. The officer appears to be ready to respond to any emergency in Byron. He wears it all, so you need to be as friendly as he is. Hello people I need to ask a question and i'm sure some has already asked so plz don't get mad at me .....Is the wind bad in cody in the dead of winter if so how bad . I know it's a quetion asked alot but i haven't found any forum with a straight answer. plz don't yell at me ...

Sorry, I would have answered if I knew the answer. I've been through Cody twice. Straight through. Can't get a good feel for the weather in that short of observation.

Lived in Cody for 8 years and I think the wind blew all 8 years. The springs seemed to be the worst and had some really strong wind storms of 100 mph or so. Had a friend who had lived in Casper most of her life and she said that she thought Cody had worse wind than Casper. I was raised in Sheridan and knew that it sure blew a whole lot more than there. In the spring I would get so depressed because the sun was shinning and I wanted to get out in the yard and couldnt because the wind was so bad. Wind was one of the major reasons I moved out as soon as I got the chance.

well jkb826 thanks for insight was really thinkin of movin to Cody but the wind seems to be a problem. You know I've looked at almost all the states in the US and for some reason I keep coming back Wyoming any sugguestions on a quite place to live in that great state of yours thats not going to cost me an arm and leg and close enough to find a good job. Any suggestions I would be very helpful.
