The wine department at my local supermarket has little signs for each section. One of the signs advertises "Sherry - Port - Madiera". There are bottles of Madeira within one foot of the sign. I pointed out the error to an employee months ago; the sign is still there, unchanged.

I can understand misspelling more intricate words, especially when the only thing you have to rely on is your brain. However, if you're on the internet, then GOOGLE the proper spelling!! It will take all of two seconds. If you have time to Google "purple unicorn," then I KNOW you have time to google up the spelling of a word.

My favorite thus far was at a Wendy's I visited while on a high school youth group several years back. It was a message about drunk driving on one of those mass-printed, paper mats they put on your trays. I quote..."It's you're biggie night..."
OK, just came across a lovely new sign in the window of a convenience store/deli near my home.

Maybe the target audiences include Muslims (during Ramadan, they get to end their fasts at sundown.)
