I will tell you what drives me crazy. All these little acronyms people use on the internet and in texting. We are getting to be a people who no longer no how to put words together and actually converse with someone face to face or write a letter.
I keep running into these acronyms on these forums and I have to scratch my head and wonder what in the world they stand for. It's rather hard for an old dog to learn new tricks.
I once made up my own acronym on a message board I frequented, and it caught on amongst the other posters.
It should be "I couldn't care less."
Also the phrase "At the end of the day" when used metaphorically, like: "At the end of the day, this new economic policy will not affect lower-income families."
Words that are deliberately misspelled drive me crazy. Like, for instance, creme. (There's no such thing as "creme." They aren't selling something containing cream, but instead a bunch of chemical substitutes.)
It would bother me if I saw Febuary misspelled like that, but PRONOUCING it that way is a different matter. I don't know ANYONE who pronounces it "febRUary." Everyone I know pronounces it "febUary." When I checked the dictionary, the second pronunciation was shown as "acceptable" (although not preferred).
