Probably. Most people, whether they are aware of it or not, write posts that tell a LOT about their dialect. As a linguist I enjoy reading many of posts that make the "I can't take it anymore" threads. I love the posts written in regional dialects. The posts that make the rest of you nuts.
I made the conscious decision to post using my SoCal dialect. It's, like, totally easier than worrying about the Grammar Police.
BTW: The best linguists can read posts written by/listen to a random stranger and say where that random stranger has lived, their level of education and what they do for a living. Some can listen to random strangers in NYC and ID the speaker's neighborhood. It's quite impressive. Dialects reveal all sorts of interesting things.
I was in meetings last year with a Swede who has lived in South Carolina for the past ten years. It was interesting listening to him speak.
