Cool vid - Melbourne really looks fantastic! I like the modern mixed with the grit plus Trolleys - it makes me kinda feel like a warmer home lol..

If you think about it - Both Canada and Australia can make some really fantastic Coastal vids!

Wow. Melbourne really does remind me of Toronto. Only... maybe better? Loving the alleys, weather, landscape, grander historic architecture, and beautiful tram designs. The public transportation system also appears to be world class and sufficient for the size, something Toronto has sometimes struggled with. It seems like what Toronto could have been if some politicians in generations past had made a few better decisions. That said, I still think Toronto is a fantastic city that is improving rapidly, and at the end of the day I still choose Canada for the diversity of its urban experiences (Vancouver vs. Montreal vs. Quebec City vs. St. John's etc., all so dramatically different).

The thing is, transit planning and operational decisions should NEVER have been left up to the politicians. The best hope for Toronto is for the TTC to be somehow absorbed by the Province-led Metrolinx, which is much more immune from day-to-day political interference. And the biggest transit improvements we will see will mostly likely originate from Metrolinx (Regional Express Rail, UP Express, etc), not the TTC. Sigh...
