That's true. The American-centric, western-centric worldview sees race in terms of white, black.etc, seeing all blacks as having a monolithic culture. Genetically and culturally Africans are more diverse than Europeans, but people know more about Europe so can more easily point out the difference between say Germany and France than Kenya and Nigeria or Botswana.
This is absolutely true. In San Diego we have lots of people from both Ethiopia and Somalia. Those two countries may be right next to one another but everyone is astonished at how different the people really are. They are absolutely NOTHING alike!

Not so much in the former Yugoslavia or Arab Christians in the middle east. Unless they told you thier religion, you never know which they were. The point was that my response was in agreement that many people often think of Africa monolithically when it isn't. No need to argue semantics.
what history? the subsaharan parts of africa didn't even have a written language when the colonialists arrived. ofc it had a "history", but not history in the human sense.
