Just wondering how you landed the position.

I'm not a volunteer coordinator, but I do a lot of volunteer work. Here's how you land the paid coordinator positions in my area -- connections, connections, connections. If you don't have them forget it! Volunteer work is full of politics and connections, throat cutting and back stabbing (LOL)--- just like any other work place. It is also an area with slashed budgets and, in many instances, reduced hours for the paid employees. Along with every other industry, non -profits have been hit hard.

I've applied 2 times at a nonprofit. They never called me but like you said, it is probably political...people just want to be big fish in a small pond.

Still, I am going to try to do some volunteer work again since we put our other volunteer group on hiatus for awhile.
