Seriously though, I'm sure I'll probably get an "infraction" or be warned by the city data "Monitors" by the above post but it's true. One of the reasons corporate America is so screwed up is because dare I say it the female species. Look at HR. It's one of the most inefficient, most financially draining, most fluff based, filled with policies and procedural crap entities of a company. And guess what....it's dominated by WOMEN!

Look at the academic atmosphere our young boys and teenage boys are growing up in nowadays. We've taken away their physical education, recess, and are suing them for playing tag or "rough" housing. I mean my god I feel sorry for male kids that have to go to school nowadays. It's a completely feminized environment. Look at Hollywood. Look at the commericals on t.v. Men are constantly being made fun of and we are always portrayed as stupid, dirty, unkept, etc. LMAO! Women have been sold a bill of goods that's for sure. They were sold on this idea that if they entered the workforce and became career women and bucked their predominantly natural instincts of being a mother and raising kids or taking care of their husband or family etc. that they would be happier. Nothing is further from the truth. Women are miserable nowadays. Look around society.......eating disorders, hypertexting, obsessive shopping, high divorce rates, promiscuity that rivals most men. Oh brother.......... And now us men are sittiing around holdling our dicks asking ourselves well what the hell are we supposed to do? We were supposed to be the bread winners, take care of women and be the man.

Both sexes have been having major identity crises for decades now. And it's only getting worse!

Just like we've all been brainwashed into believing capitalism is the only answer to all of planetary earth's and humanity's economic woes.........women have been brainwashed by feminism.

Men fight....it's in our blood. If I get into a fight in a bar because some guy threatens me or says something to my wife.....I could go to jail and become a felon. My life could be ruined.

Back in the day.....men solved their differences with a little rolling around and bloody noses. And we wonder why our kids, especially our boys are so screwed up nowadays. Take away their recess, indoctrinate them into a feminized world.........LOL! And women say men are ruining the world. Pathetic! The world especially corporate America is becoming too goddamn feminized.
HA.

I've worked in multiple shops where I was the ONLY woman on staff. Let me tell you, men are JUST as catty and JUST as backstabbing and passive aggressive as women are. Most of the don't just 'fight it out', most of them will get pissy, act like they're PMSing and use the ever popular 'say something mean just barely in ear reach of the person they're talking about'. These are all mechanics too...hardly 'feminized' men.

My FATHER, a wonderful man, ASE certified mechanic, ex rodeo cowboy and all around 'big tough guy' told me to use violence ONLY if threatened physically. He told me that I should use words before violence because only idiots go straight for their fist.

It cracks me up when you say it's a 'feminized' world. I guess being a decent human being and not punching anyone who crosses your path negatively makes you 'feminized'.

I don't know how old you are, but the modern day 18-30 year old female crowd is a totally different beast than those from previous generations.

Default Drug felons are people too.

Marijauna Possession does often lead to a felony if it is over 1/2 oz in most states and some states the possession amount can be even lower. This paltry amount of Marijauna can lead to jail time, and loss of income because of legalized discrimination on the part of employers nationwide. Many felons can only find jobs where the company does not perform background checks or doesn't care about felonies leaving them with very few low paying job options. In addition to being denied an equal chance at making an income most felons are denied basic government assistance during their job search such as food stamps and welfare. So, lets say a felon wants to better him/herself by getting an education. Federal student loans are denied to drug felons. Yes, just drug felons. Not murderers, rapists or pedifiles, but drug felons. We can continue to demonize nonviolent drug offenders in this country by denying them a means at providing for their family in the legal business world, but this will not lead to a rational program that targets the reasons why many choose to use or sell drugs. Nationwide surveys have shown that more than 50% of the US population at some point in time has smoked Marijauna. Most of us just didn't get caught.

'Bad Credit' hasn't been mentioned here but credit checks are more & more common and bad debt is 'treated' the same as a crime coming up on a background check specifically to bad debt (Collections, Chargeoffs that come up). I started a temp job last summer and was escorted out by the onsite temp rep on 2nd day at 4:00pm all because I was told that I had failed the credit check part of the background because of the amount of 'bad debt' that came up. I wasn't given any chance to explain or anything -- that agency never bothered to get me another assignment either

I'm 28. And most of the women I know are tough cookies... And most of the men are the same way. You are the company you keep.

That's just stupid on the employer's part. For one thing, collections and charge-offs can mean that even in tough times like these, the person isn't going to steal, embezzle, or commit fraud just to pay a credit card bill that very well may have been run up because of medical bills or other expenses incurred for reasons other than materialistic irresponsibility.

For another, if someone is behind on bills, it could be argued that they are less likely to do something dumb to jeopardize their incomes (like hit on the receptionist) and more likely to bust their butt to keep their job so they can straighten their life out.

Just saying. That was really short-sighted and cynical of that temp agency. Cruel, too, given the number of people who are struggling these days.

I say if you can do the work, and you do it up to expectations, on time, with a good attitude, that's what's important.

I had a little taste of this type of discrimination after my blow-up several weeks ago.
It resulted in an arrest, but psych ward in lieu of county jail and no convictions.
However, since the police were involved, the company I got fired from pretty much went with the story and details the people in charge at the place of the incident provided.
At this point, the background checks will either have no difference in myself getting hired on, or it'll completely bring everything crashing down.
Luckily, most truck-driving companies seemed to be more solely concerned with DUIs, traffic accidents, and tickets than a heated argument between a driver and a foreign warehouse worker.

This is why when it comes to what looks like a potentially violent scenario, it would be good to sense the risks and just walk away to prevent it from escalating much further.
Even if it gets you a chewing from your supervisor, it beats having to explain your actions to cops while you sit in the back of a god-forsaken squad car.

I agree. This happened to me twice in 2011 with well known companies in Boston. I got escorted off the premises on the second day after I was told that I failed the background check due to having an excessive amount of chargeoffs/collections. Ironic that, one of these banks who decided my credit wasn't good enough (not Bank of America but one of the largest in Boston) accepted TARP money..
