Vaccines have nothing to do with protection and the ability to return to the office. You can still get COVID if you get the vaccine series of shots. You can still die from COVID after being completely vaccinated.
Sorry to hear that. The last IT company that I worked for also did not believe in WFH, despite its viability and effectiveness.
So I'm retiring earlier than I had planned to (if I could WFH, I'd probably work indefinitely), because once you've WFH, you can't go back! Their loss.
My boss probably also believes in the tooth fairy; it wouldn't surprise me. What my boss does NOT believe in is working from home (despite its proven success in her business).
Your boss is not the only boss in the nation. If you want wfh, get another boss at another company.
Vaccine works best at preventing the worst symptoms of covid from happening. That means a lower death rate from getting covid.
Is this proven to "prevent severe illness" in the very old, the very sick, and the obese? Because they're the ones who generally die WITH - not necessarily OF - this virus, just as they die from the flu or even the common cold. Whereas for the rest of us, it ALREADY has a 99.8% survival rate...
As I say, my risk/benefit analysis -- as well as my intuition and common sense -- tell me this isn't something I need to pursue...
A very good question that many people do not have a convincing answer for. Especially using a sped-through experimental vaccine where the vaccine makers are not held liable for any malfeasance and where many life insurance companies won't pay out for deaths that are caused by this vaccine. That alone is reprehensible to me.
