But some people apply to any job just to have money coming in and don't read the job description. Like I would never apply for a labor job because I am older and prefer a office job where i wont be tired and depressed.

then why would they expect to be happy? random job search is random... you are as likely to be unhappy as you are happy...

I wouldn't worry about this... What are Americans happy about these days?

When have people ever been happy with their jobs? Work has sucked since the beginning of time. Let's face it. The vast majority of people only show up to their jobs because they need the money. Finding a better job just means trying to find a different bucket of *stuff* that stinks less. Sometimes the different bucket actually ends up stinking more than the bucket you crawled out of.

It's only recently that people are somewhat expected to find fulfillment (or "passion") for their jobs.

There has to be something a person likes about the job before applying. Whether it's the commute, the duties, or the pay to avoid being miserable. Knowing that a low paying job in a Amazon warehouse involves lifting would be foolish to apply to since it would not cover my bills on top of me having arthritis lol

they dont... the people who seem to complain, apply to escape a job, not because they want the new one

To me, it is their message to their staff that they are disposable and prove it by threats and following through with it. It used to be that you can have a job with the same company for your entire career, be able to earn, save and grow so that you do feel part of the team and feel good to help the company grow bigger.
Today, there is back stabbing, cheating, having connections to have a job and have high earnings, low income, no pay increase.
Having a union doesn't seem to help with job stability anymore.
