And being micro-managed to the point where you just don't care anymore. The micro-management just gets worse and worse as the decades go on.

That was what I hated most about working. I always thought of the workplace as a meaner version of high school, and I hated high school.

imo better to be micromanaged than excluded.

Nowadays its a need to know basis, kinda hard to consistently do a good job if only a few know the why. Things are don this way so management can take all the credit. Cant properly explain why you deserve a promotion or raise if you don't understand how you contributed.

As I said before, many of us have had to adapt to only wanting ONE thing out of a job; that it pays enough to cover food, rent and, electricity. Many jobs, from an employee's perspective, fail at this ONE thing.

Some people apply to the wrong jobs and then end up miserable.
