while I'm on my way to her office my heart is pounding and I'm sweating because I am thinking I did something wrong. And when I get there I find out its nothing too serious but it still makes me nervous to be called into the office. Wondering how many years do I have to be employed continuously to stop being so nervous.
My friend told me she felt the same way when she was called into her supervisor's office yesterday. Anyone else?
I'm in my early 40's. I have zero anxiety. Once you gain some experience and confidence, you'll be fine. Oh, and at some point, some stop caring too much even if things go south. I mean even if you did something wrong, it should be a big deal.
And here's the thing that you should also be aware of OP, supervisors don't like meek people with delicate sensibilities. Their a pain to deal with. Toughen up.

This is like dealing with stage fright. If after a number of successful presentations go well, you generally aren't as rattled by them.
I call people to my office all the time. I make sure that the majority of the time it is to help them work out problems with one of their projects, compliment them on a job well done, or plan something for the future. Negative discussions are in the minority, so people shouldn't have much fear of coming to talk to me.
As g-fused noted, after a while you stop sweating the small stuff as well.
Nope. I do my job every day to the best of my ability and always give 110%. If I screw something up, I own up to it and fix it. That's all I can do. If it isn't good enough then I can't help you and we need to part ways.
yeah, a long time ago. I got hotflashes. Now ... don't care. My emergency fund lasts a year, house almost paid off and that thought keeps me very relaxed.
